In the Community

At Salamander Pumps, we are committed to actively supporting our local community and charitable organisations that share our core values.

Salamander Pumps Tough Mudder

Supporting Charities

We encourage our employees to contribute to both their local community and charitable donations through accepting charity organisation nominations, as well as access to company resources to assist where possible.

Every year the Salamander Pumps team donate food and toiletries to The Sunderland Trussell Trust and take part in Macmillan Coffee Mornings to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

In addition to this, throughout 2025, whilst some of the team took part in “Pretty Muddy”, in support of Cancer Research UK, others took on the “Manufacturers Ramble” in support of Andys Man Club, a suicide prevention group. An Easter bake sale was organised to raise money for Children North East, a charity that is dedicated to supporting children grow up happy & healthy, and the team put there Tyne and Wear Derby differences apart for the day, wearing their home football shirts and raising funds for the Bradley Lowery Foundation.

Salamander Pumps Spennymoor Town Football Club

Local Football Club Support

Salamander Pumps sponsor Spennymoor Town FC. As part of the sponsorship, we have pledged to support Spennymoor’s youth club delivery sessions, which are being hosted in partnership with Spennymoor Youth & Community Association.

This sponsorship ensures that the cost of playing football at grassroots level remains affordable for the local community because it directly affects participation, inclusion, and wellbeing. Football is one of the most accessible and popular sports in the area, and keeping costs low ensures that children, young people, and adults from all backgrounds can take part, regardless of household income.

Training

Salamander Pumps proactively support 24 plumbing colleges in the UK and ROI. We have visited 13 of these colleges during 2025, providing educational sessions and training initiatives, with multiple sessions delivered covering both level two and level three plumbing students.

This support enhances the learning experience for plumbing students, encouraging completion and future careers in plumbing.

In the Workplace

We aim to create an open and supportive environment, encouraging employees to fulfil their potential. We do this in a number of ways.

Salamander Pumps Employee Awards

Employee Engagement

We ensure our appreciation for our employees does not go unrecognised. ‘Well done’ cards have been introduced in all departments, with senior management delivering them to employees for outstanding performance. The holding company we operate under, Davidson Holdings, have an annual employee award scheme awarded to employees in the group who have gone above and beyond.

Salamander Pumps Apprentices

Apprenticeships

We facilitate occupational, internal, and external training, as well as offering frequent career progression opportunities.

We believe in assisting our employees’ career path to benefit both the individual and the business’ long-term success.

We consistently support young people’s career progression through our apprenticeship programs and work with local education bodies to assist in extra-curricular activities.

In the Environment

At Salamander Pumps, we recognise the impact that manufacturing can have on the environment, and we are committed to diminishing this wherever possible.

Noise Pollution

Particularly in commercial installations, noise pollution can be a disturbing factor for the local environment. We consider ourselves to be industry pioneers in providing innovative solutions to this issue. Our pumps have been independently tested against our competitors and have shown to be some of the quietest in the UK, with many of our ranges being awarded the Quiet Mark.

CT Force 1

Recycling

Most of the Salamander Pumps product range involves electrical components, all of which are compliant with the WEEE directive.

Salamander Pumps operates a WEEE disposal policy (ID number WEE/MM5397AA) that ensures no landfill or 3rd World disposal, whilst maximising environmental sustainability.

As part of our Environmental policy, we also set measurable environment improvement objectives, including recycling of factory waste and the use of recyclable materials wherever possible. Improving the design of all future pumps is another key emphasis for us and through our innovation we actively seek to reduce product waste.
