The Salamander Pumps thermostatic mixing valve is designed to protect pumps fitted to systems where the stored domestic hot water temperature is uncontrolled, e.g. AGA, Solid fuel appliances or automatic boilers very crudely controlled by the boiler thermostat.

All Salamander Pumps thermostatic mixing valves (TMV) come pre-set at 55 degree’s.

Comes complete with connectors for 22mm compression.

The UK’s Department of Health and Social Care has produced guidance for those managing hospitals and healthcare facilities. Safe water in healthcare premises (HTM 04-01) supplement D 08 is a special section exploring the use of thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs).

There are sections on sampling, leak tightness, durability, and performance. These are important to consider within a hospital care home or similar healthcare facilities, where some of those present may be at greater risk of being scalded if they are exposed to hot water.

It is critical to ensure that TMVs are operating correctly and are set to the correct temperature.
